The first semester on Hyper Island is coming to an end. Only one week left. And then sweeet holiday, you'd think... No no!! Hildes little break plans seems to vanish into thin air when Christmas plans and birthdays obviously is THE thing to celebrate this time of year. Well, well! What to do? Perhaps just sit back and watch the short movie that became one of Hildes end results of the individual assignment.
And maybe just face the facts that "This Christmas, you may not get what you whish for".

Finished the individual assignment. Worked her ass off the whole weekend. Made 3 posters and a animation of The Grinch. One poster in html. Tired as hell. Went to bed early this morning. She got to school and listend to two lectures. What to think of in terms of the portfolio. How to reach the right target group on the internet. Good lecture, high standard! Liked Björn Jeffery from the company Good Old. Great tempo, relevant and interesting as hell! Got home, dyed a friends hair. Tried to make some sense of her thoughts in her head. Tried to make an attempt to blog.
but gave up...
So the week at Hyper Island has gone madly fast. The module about visual communication is harder than expectet. Groups and groups to keep track of, meetings oh meetings. Clients, agencys, all different roles which Hilde and her classmates are taking part of. And oh, and of course another peermarking group, which gives you feedback on all your work you do as an agency. And this group is also an agency which are given feedback from another and so on and so forth!!! Hilde's just getting to understand the system, but still pretty frustrated over a lot of things, just as she should feel evidently. It's the Hyper way to feel!! YEAH! Great for the future, and crazy mad right now. But hey! This is the reality, right?
On top of this an individual asignment, where you choose and historical important graphic designer and copy his way of designing or working with layout. Then you make a advertising poster of one of three movies you choose from: Nightmare before Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas orThe Muppet Christmas Carol. Actually, you have to make four. One poster on which you choose any software to work in, and with the other posters you recreate the same design in three versions by selecting three of the tools of these choses:

Adobe IllustratorAdobe AfterEffects
Adobe InDesign
HTMLAnd then only stick to one tool per version. Phuu!! The worst part of it is that Hilde hasn't even started yet! But she thinks to herself: soon! soon! As long as it's finished on Monday (!!!).And also lectures talking about brands, workshops in how to make the best of storyboard telling and... Make a cd-cover based on the emotion you get after you have smelled a can of fremented herring (sour or yeasted fish you eat!!! swedish dish, terrible, Hilde must say). So after smelling (even from a distance) this fish dish, Hilde felt a nausea so overwhelming that this is what she created. Which pretty much sums up the week! Just too much
emotions!

And what a weekend! Burn marks and frozen dreams. Never-ending bustrips and lost friends on the way. Back to school the additional work waits with new assignments. A lot of work as usual, a lot to reflect on, take in, breath out, waste a little time, die a little. Now where will this eventually lead? Hopefully somewhere splendent! But for now back to here and here. The new topic is Visual Communication. Let's see where this will lead, Hilde thinks.
So a new chapter has certainly started. All different module. A different president (one to really hope for). A new way of seeing things. A new way of handling them. And even a new haircut... So what about it? In school Hilde and her classmates are all about being innovative and writing business plans. Trying to be all grown up. Hard to leave Neverland, she guesses! And why do you have to really? Sure we all grow up, at least on the outside. But what if you refused on the inside?
The last module: Experience Technology had a sweet ending in Stockholm at the exhibition that Hilde and her classmates attended. She felt it was a great success but also extremly exhausted afterwards and glad to be back home again. So Hilde rested for a few day and tried to get back on track again as the new module started at school this time about Concept and development. It's about coming up with a innovative business idea and then at the end of the module, try to sell it For Real. See how that goes. So from 50 ideas to 5 to The actual one, that's what we have been working on for the last week. And also been given different tools from different lecturer on how to come up with good ideas and how to pick out the best once based on some criterias. Yeahhh a lot to think about as usual.
He hey! Hilde feels a lot more calm now when things are really starting to look good with the Wii project. The motion graphic works like a charm! The digital arty world responds to the votive candles through the Wii remote. And the Wii remote responds to IR (infrared) light which votive candles emit. So you actually navigate through this big arty world with a real lantern containing two votive lights and simply explore things, like weird fantasy figures, buildings and other funny things. Here are some examples of the characters you will meet on the journey.
All this will take place at an exhibition in Stockholm next Friday, 24 of October. It's all about experiencing technology, and there will be a lot of other groups showing off their stuff as well. So in other words: A LOT OF FUN!

Hilde took as usual the bike to school. Made a list on things to do this day. There were a lot of things to do today. Felt very stressed over the schedule. Missed her cellmates. Started to blog. Checked her mail frequently. Not much to see there. Waited for some illustrations to pop up. Wanted to start the animation process. Felt frustrated. Where's the darn illustrations? Started to think about the magazine article her group had to write. The deadline's tomorrow. Not at all stressed. Not at all. Now that was a lie! Also thought about the process follow up the group had to attend. Wondered what to say there. Frustration, frustration!!!!
"Monday's no fun, Tuesday's the same, Wednesdays I go out, at least something" But today's Tuesday, so same old same old! As usual Hilde's dead tired and got a lot to do, like written rapports, graphics, magazine articles, checking the projector, making things just work. And on the top of everything of course, there just have to be some distractions. Gahhh! Sometimes Hilde thinks
it would just be great not to think about a damn thing. Oh nothingness, oh sweet empty! But those days seem to be long gone away.
Ok! So, Hilde's up and running!
And as she said before in her prevous blog (!) her swiit group got the wii remote to experiment with! And so far so good! It's gonna be great, Hilde thinks! Mighty exciting.
Hilde starts all over again with the blogging as the old blogspot accidently was deleted!!! ARGHHH!!!!
